Our junior and young karate players returned from the World Cup with 6 medals

Aladdin Malikov became the European champion

The European Championship between junior (U-18) and young (U-21) karate fighters in Limassol, Cyprus, in which the Azerbaijani national team participated, has ended.

According to the information provided by the Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF), our representatives finished the championship with 6 (1-1-4) medals. 5 of these medals (1-1-3) were awarded to 18-year-olds, and 1 to 21-year-olds. One of the medals was won in kata and the rest in kumite competition.

Aladdin Malikov (68 kg, kumite) from the 18-year-old group won a gold medal after winning all his matches. Vusal Ganbarov (55 kg, kumite), who stumbled only in the decisive final, was awarded a silver medal. Ravan Abbasov (61 kg, kumite), Jansu Ahmadova (66 kg, kumite) and Salman Salmanov (kata), who finished in third place, were satisfied with the bronze medal.

Among the 21-year-olds, only Aslan Dostuyev (60 kg, kumite) was awarded a bronze medal by taking the third place.
