On June 24, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reviewed the construction of a residential complex for IDP families in the Samukh region.
Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Rovshan Rzayev briefed the President on the work done.
It was noted that 1603 people from 459 families settled in Samukh region. Most of them were IDPs from Kalbajar region. The construction of the complex, which began this year and is currently underway, will relocate IDP families living in more difficult conditions in the region. The complex includes 9 residential buildings, each with four floors. Each apartment will be handed over to IDPs in a fully renovated condition. Currently, intensive work is underway to build infrastructure in the area. This includes the provision of electricity, water supply, gas pipelines.
It should be noted that the four-hectare residential complex includes a 144-seat secondary school, a 50-seat nursery-kindergarten, an administrative building, a medical center and a club-community center. The area will be fully landscaped and landscaped.
It should be noted that as a result of the policy implemented to improve the living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons, the living conditions of more than 300,000 people have been improved. So far, more than 100 settlements and high-rise buildings have been built in the country at the expense of the state budget and the State Oil Fund.
