Presentation of the "Simplified Declaration - E-Commerce" project was held at the State Customs Committee on September 24.
The event was attended by the heads of appropriate bodies of the State Customs Committee and media representatives.
Chief of the Committee's Secretariat Anar Suleymanov gave information about the project and said that reforms were being carried out in the customs system as part of the steps taken by President Ilham Aliyev to achieve sustainable and dynamic development of the country's economy, improve business environment, enhance transit and logistic capabilities, ensure facilitated international trade.
It was noted that along with the improvement of customs legislation, acceleration of border crossing processes, reconstruction of infrastructure, personnel and structural reforms, the need to realize global challenges on the agenda of the World Customs Organization in Azerbaijan had highlighted the implementation of the project.
Anar Suleymanov underlined that the "Simplified Declaration - E-Commerce" project would play an important role in eliminating the "shadow economy", upgrading the service.
Then, a video made to promote the project was screened.
Addressing the event, chief of the Digital Customs Administration Department of the State Customs Committee Rauf Guliyev gave information about the "Simplified Declaration - E-Commerce" project.
It was said that the project prepared by the experts of Azerbaijan's customs service would be available in mobile and web formats. In order to take advantage of this innovation, individuals are to create a personal account by signing in with Asan login via the Smart customs application downloaded to a mobile phone or computer.
If the amount and quantity of the order exceeds the limit provided by the legislation, in case the appropriate customs payments are made electronically in advance, there is no need to come to the customs body. Thus, the ordered package will be delivered directly to the specified address without any obstacles.
All processes can be carried out via a computer or mobile phone in any place with access to the Internet.
It was noted that previously, if the amount and quantity of orders from abroad exceeded the limits provided by the law, individuals had to go to the customs body, submit a written declaration and carry out several procedures.

It should be noted that the new project will create conditions for ensuring more transparent and faster e-commerce, upgrading the service, eliminating the waste of time, ensuring transparency, specified customs statistics, using the existing resources efficiently.
Individuals who import goods through international mail deliveries or carrier companies will no longer be able to come to the customs body and will be able to perform all customs operations without contacting a customs officer.
The State Customs Committee also plans to launch new services for foreign trade participants via Smart customs application.
It should be noted that from the date of the enactment of the law, parcels ordered through international postal deliveries and carrier companies must be declared to the customs body through the "Simplified Declaration - E-Commerce" application.
