On 2-4 December 2019 the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) organised the
delegation trip from Germany with the participation of Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH company
represented by the Director of Sales Department - Mr Marius Wansleben, the Specialist in International
sales for naval and maritime simulation and training - Mr Thomas Paul, and the representative of the
company responsible for Azerbaijan - Mr Gabil Mammadli.
On the first day of the visit, the business representatives from Germany met Energy Minister, Mr Parviz
Shahbazov and Chairman of Board of the Energy Issues Regulation Agency, Mr Samir Akhundov. Main
focus of discussions were the partnership opportunities between two countries in the development of
energy sector and the investment plans of the Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH in the region. The
participants of the bilateral meetings highlighted the role of German economy in offering its expertise in
machinery and equipment industry contributing to the development of the sector in Azerbaijan.
During the 3-day delegation trip, the company representatives also paid a visit to the Ministry of
Defense, Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, as well as to SOCAR and
Azerbaijan State Marine Academy. In addition, the guests had an opportunity to meet the administration
of Port of Baku and to visit the Training Center of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company to observe the
existing facilities. The sides had an exchange of views over the various spheres of possible cooperation
between Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH and Azerbaijan.
